Kids’ Clays Camp
This two-day event introduces, encourages and coaches youngsters in the clay sports. (Suggested age of 12-17 years old).
- Training and coaching will focus on firearm safety, clay target shooting and mental training for success in the clay sports.
- All coaching will be presented by National Sporting Clays Association certified instructors.
- Courses will have a minimum of 4 shooters and a maximum of 10 shooters. Shooters will be grouped by experience.
- 2 instructors will be present for all courses.

Beginner Shooter Schedule
June 21 & 22 @ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
July 12 & 13 @ 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
July 19 & 20 @ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
A shooter should sign up for the beginner course if they have shot less than 500 clay targets (trap, skeet, or sporting clays).
Day 1
- Introduction – Let’s get to know each other.
- Safety – In-depth interactive modeled proper gun etiquette.
- Gun Fit – Each camper will be looked at individually to assure proper gun fit for recoil and target acquisition.
- Patterning Board Activity – Objective for the shooter to understand how a properly fitted gun will shoot.
- Baseball Drill – To aid in seeing the detail of a target.
- Skeet Range – Outbound/Inbound target introduction to proficiency.
- Lunch/Snack discussion – Report pairs vs. true pairs-yardage discussion.
- Sporting Clays Range – For inbound outbound targets.
Day 2
- Recap review-safety-inbound-outbound target.
- Crossing Targets – Introduction to Left to Right and Right to Left targets.
- Lunch/Snack recap – Sporting Clays course review (observation-planning-testing-implementing).
- 25 Bird Course.
Experienced Shooter Schedule
June 21 & 22 @ 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
July 12 & 13 @ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
July 19 & 20 @ 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

- Sporting Clays Course – Outbound/Inbound target introduction to proficiency.
- Lunch/Snack discussion – 3 points discussion – Baseball Drill – To aid in seeing the detail of a target – One thing I learned.
- Sporting Clays Range – Left to right and right to left crossers.
- Flurry Five Stand.
Day 2
- Recap review – safety-recap of 3 points (hold, visual and break points).
- Fifty Bird walk through (instruction along the way) Break half way.
- Lunch/Snack recap – Sporting Clays course review (observation-planning-testing-implementing).
- Fifty Bird walk through continued (instruction along the way).
- Annie Oakley.
Registration and Fee
Registration fee includes all needed equipment (Eye and ear protection, shotgun, ammo, along with snacks/lunch and soft drinks). The fee is $165 (a $50 non-refundable deposit along with a liability waiver is required). Note: Parents/guardians do not have to be present, but may watch if they wish.
